Franco Brunelli, brother of a missing journalist, doesn’t show for a meeting with Juliet Laskey, feature writer for the business section of The Seattle Times.
His call to Juliet, came out of the blue, in response to her three-paragraph filler featuring an Italian animal feed corporation with plans for a Seattle plant. Franco has a damning inside story on the company but is found dead behind a dumpster in a Seattle alley, before he could pass it on.
Juliet’s investigation sees her dodging bullets and teaming up with Rick Devan as events pull them across Italy to Africa in an ordeal of abduction and assassination.
